The spectrum of energy technology sectors is broad, producing a wide range of career options.

If you enjoy multitasking, solving problems, making a difference, and want a fast-paced work setting where no two days are the same, consider training to become a global logistics or dispatch specialist. Become a sought-after Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) Technician as new construction installations and replacement of older systems drive growth in the industry through 2020, according to U.S. Department of Labor 2012/2013 Occupational Handbook. As new energy efficient models each the market, and pollution regulations, including prohibition of older refrigerants, are phased in, more systems will be retrofitted, upgraded, or replaced entirely. HVACR industry applications include a broad range of commercial, specialty and residential climate control systems, commercial refrigeration equipment, transportation technology, and emergency units.

Once you have chosen to pursue Airframe and Powerplant Technician Certification, consider adding a few short months of education to achieve an Associate’s Degree, now available from MIAT. The added curriculum will round out your Airframe and Powerplant Technician training with essential academic skills to move into more complex technical positions and managerial roles. Employers who answered surveys from the MIAT Career Services Department stated they are looking for applicants who possess critical communication, problem solving, and analytical skills that can be acquired by completion of a college degree.

See what our graduates are saying…
“The hands-on experience is a huge factor. You can look at a book all day long, but it’s not the same as getting out there and doing it. It’s a completely different experience.”
