Get the Skills to Be a Professional Wind Technician
7 Month Wind Power Technician Career Training Program
In this day and age, more and more of a focus is being placed on generating cost-efficient, environmentally friendly energy sources. And with these new industry emphases comes increased demand for qualified energy technicians.
Renewable, environmentally sustainable wind energy is a vital resource and an important industry for our future. That’s why MIAT College of Technology offers a Wind Power Technician program that provides students the skills they need to be successful in this innovative field.
Wind Techs Go Extreme
Wind technicians must inspect and service a turbine’s blades on a regular basis. This is done by entering the turbine through the base of the tower and climbing a ladder or riding an elevator up through the tower shaft. Depending on the task at hand, technicians may be suspended hundreds of feet in the air! When needed, it’s not uncommon for helicopters to raise technicians up to the desired working height. Talk about an interesting day at the office!
